While English proficiency is clearly important for success in our studies and in our career, many of us – Hong Kong Cantonese – lack confidence in the use of English, not only in speaking but also in our written work (academic and workplace documents).
With the following eight strengths (rarely found in one and the same person) and having my English proficiency highly recommended by well-educated native speakers of English, I am ready to help you in two ways: (a) serving as your English trainer; and (b) proof-reading and editing your documents (academic and workplace documents).
(a) Serving as your English trainer
Let's work together so that you can make a real breakthrough in English – promptly and effectively. Depending on your choice, our face-to-face training sessions can cover grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, choice of appropriate words and tone in formal communications and diagnosis of your English (spoken and written). (b) Proof-reading and editing your documents
Documents of any kind, including academic documents of undergraduate/ postgraduate/ PhD students (assignments, reports, dissertations, articles for publication in prestigious journals, etc.) and workplace documents (letters, reports, proposals, announcements, notices, memos, agendas, records of meetings, submissions to the Government, etc.). Why Anthony
Before you decide to seek my help, I would recommend that you have a close look at:
Some notes for you
Before we meet, you may wish to have a look at some of the notes (mostly 1 page each) I have prepared on grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. I have also – as challenges for you – included photos of notices issued by MTR, KMB, HKU, CityU, QE Hospital and others for you to discriminate between “good” and “bad” usage of English.
When we meet, I would be pleased to design materials having regard to your current level of English proficiency and your language needs.
Let's work together
Let's work together to ensure that you achieve a real breakthrough in English (grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, etc.) – and do so promptly and effectively – and that your academic/workplace documents are of an admirable standard.
